How do I network WinServer 2003 and XP Pro?

go to the seminars...thats how i learned a lot about the features of 2K3 server
that and the books...lots and lots of books
theres also a weath of FAQ sites out there that answer a lot of questions

It's really not that hard. If you want a domain, set up Active Directory, create a user account on the server, join the XP machine to the domain, log in.

If not, share folder on server, Start-> Run -> \\<nameofserver> and browse to the file you want.

😕

Hey thanks Dopefiend. If you don't mind, would you contact me on AIM? I'd love to talk to you and ask you more questions if you don't mind. Thank you.

Ryan KMA is where I can be reached.

Sorry, I don't actually have AIM, but feel free to post here and I'll do my best- then others can benefit from it 🙂

Hey thanks I actually figured it out. It was my firewall that was holding me back from actually connecting to the network.

As is usually the case. With Server 2003, I had to open about four seperate ports to be able to use filesharing 🙂
