how do i network on xp?

i got me a router, some cat5 cable, i can network on 98se, can anyone help me, XP is way different, im on cable

install cable modem on router
router to switch
switch to comps.

enter the routers ip on the win xp machines and enter dns address manully on xp machines.

Give us some more detail of what you are trying to do... DSL, Cable, Workgroup (Peer-Peer), Domains?

I would have came up with a similar response to the guy above me...

on further detail, have the machines point to the router as the default gateway. (and dns's to your orginal dns's)
