I know this is off topic, but I wasen't sure what other forum to throw this topic in. You people are usually bored also. ^_~

I have a 120gb Maxtor, and just ordered a WD 120gig SE which I want to use instead. What's the best way to move my current install of XP Pro to the new drive. Set them both up and copy the Maxtor's complete contents to the WD? Or will that run into errors? I don't really want to buy any software ^_~ Any ideas? Thanks!

There is no way to do it unless you buy software. I wouldn't trust any free drive image programs out there. Also, Windows may or may not make you re-activate because you're changing your hardware configuration.

If you're expecting to be able to copy one drive to the other using Windows explorer that's not gonna work. You're gonna need like partition magic or something.
