I have an 80mm fan that I bought online. I don't have any place to put it on my case. Is there a how-to guide as to how to mod my case so that I can mount my 80mm fan on it? Even better if I can buy some sort of mount online.

Thanks,
Charles

Assume you have an ATX case.
Your case already filled up with fans?

if yes, why adding an extra? heat problem?

if no, you need a blow hole. Search google or at the forum for it.

Usually, fan mount on front, lower for intake. Or on back for out.

You can do a side blow hole for out take, on even on top of the case.

Your local hardware store (Home Depot) should have 1.5 or 2 in screw that you can secure it. Or those fan screws (but i find that not all the time fit. So i use those long screw with nuts. )

What case you have and how's many fans inside it?

I have an Antec Solution Series Super Mid Tower case. The case only supports two 120mm fans. I have an 80mm fan that I would like to put on there.

You can super glue it to the Case where the 120 vent holes are or even Drill a 3" (appx) hole on the side/top of the case. i think there are also adapters but I would opt for aquiring a quiet 120mm Fan and using it.

Look Here and you will see that most all push better air then your 80mm so you may want to consider the Dba. Enermax and Vantec come to mind with Pabst and Sunon being top notched fans as well.

I heard panaflo is good with its hydro-wave bearings. However, it is 38mm deep. I don't know if this is a big deal when it comes to fitting on case fans.

Panaflo is top notched (esp noise) but so are others within the group I gave you. If you have a cage to fit the fan in, then depth will matter. If not then as long as other Hardware is not in the way, you should be good to go!
