How do I modify the Windows Control Panel

Stumps

Diamond Member
I just upgraded my Vid card drivers from Nvidia 91.28 to 91.31 and while it is working fine, it has left a non working Control Panel Icon for the new Nvidia Control Panel.

How do I remove this icon from the Windows control panel?...I'm running winxp pro sp2

Prolly just remove its *.cpl file from system32.

Find the likely culprit based upon name, view properties to confirm, move it and refresh the CP to see if the icon disappears.

cheers...that fixed the problem...funny thing is the Nvidia Control Panel .exe file works fine and is present in the system32 directory...but the NVCPL.CPL file does nothing when clicked on...it didn't even have a description in my control panel....yet when I had the 91.28 drivers it had a decription and it worked fine, I tried using driver cleaner to fix the problem(maybe a dodgy driver install or something)but it would always appear as a useless icon.

but any way thanks again😀
