How do I make XP look like this?

I can get the silver theme, but how can I make the icons (close, maximize, minimize) buttons small like that? I want the silver theme but I hate how the buttons are so big. Just want them small. I have stylexp, but I hate using programs like that to adjust it, isn't there an option within xp to make those small?

go to display properties, appearance, click on advanced. then click on caption buttons and adjust the size from there. 🙂

I'm content with the silver theme. Just one more thing though... why are the icons in my tray so freakin small! Same with my quick launch bar

Same thing happened to me when I adjusted that captions buttons setting. That's too bad, because it made those buttons the perfect size, but all my quick launch bar buttons are absolutely tiny.

unlock your toolbar first, then right click in the area of your quick launch bar. right click, view and select large icons. presto you now have large icons. 🙂

...but what if I dont want big fugly OSX wannabe icons? I like the silver XP theme with small window buttons but normal small quicklaunch and systray icons.

I want to be able to customize each and every aspect of how my os looks.. which is why i like Litestep and windowblinds. 😀

You can also just shrink the font size the the title bars, that shrinks the Minimize/Maximize/Close icons. That's what I did, it was just too large for my liking.

And how does one change the color of their start button if they change to another theme and that theme doesn't change its color?

heh every time i see XP it looks like KDE to me .. that looks suspicously like the Platinum theme or whatever it is in KDE .. hm ..

I did that, and I got hideously massive icons on the quick launch bar. They were the size of desktop icons :disgust:

Really? I don't think so. I run Madrake with KDE and XP on two computers connected by a KVM switch, and I don't think they look that similar. I actually like the XP look better, I think it has a more polished look. Plus, the KDE icons are ugly.

As stated above:

I performed this operation and everything looks perfectly fine now. My thanks to Mark.
