How do I make WinXP to recognize my new CD-RW?

I got a Sanyo BP5 to replace the old YAMAHA 2100S. The installation went smoothly w/o any problem. However, after reboot, WinXP only recognizes the BP5 as a CD-ROM instead of CD-RW like YAMAHA 2100S. Is there a registry key I should modify or a setting parameter I should change to get WinXP to work as it used to be.

As the matter of fact, the new Sanyo BP5 burns just fine. I am just curious if there is a solution.
