How do I make WinXP shows icons instead of tiles in folder?

In WinXP, the default view for all folder is tiles. Is there a way to amek ALL folders to show icons instead of tiles?

TIA

Change the folder to the way you want it.

Select Tools->Folder Options, then click on the View tab. Uncheck "Remember each folder's view settings", then click the Apply to all folders button.

WinXP keeps forgetting my settings. For example, I want the Control Panel to be shown as "icons," but it keeps going back to "List" after a while. Having similar problems with the Recyle Bin (List, should be Detailed) and Save File pannel (Tiles, should be List). Not a huge deal, but it's annoying to want different settings for different windows, and they're all always wrong. LOL.

Any ideas?
