While this is not my forte, doesn't he need a normally open switch instead, so that when pushed it closes the circuit momentarily?

Just turn it on and off fairly quickly? 😛

You just need to create a short to the pins on the motherboard for a short period of time for the computer to start up (if that's the kind of pb you're talking about)

I'm doing a case mod and I lost my original Chieftec Server power button and this is how I got into this predicament 🙁.

I'll just go with the radioshack method, thanks guys.

Seekermeister has the right idea. You need what's termed a "momentary" switch.

Be sure to tell them that at Radio Shack.

atx mobo's used pushbutton switch unlike those baby at which use a normally closed switch(NC) what you need is a switch that can make a contact for a moment when pushed in that switch in the picture if you can modify it so that the locking pin or something will be disabled would be a better idea.
