How do I make the disc bootable to install W2K?

I own w2k adv. server and I wanted to compare speed/functions/etc. to w2k pro. A friend gave me a copy of w2k pro (no, I didn't ask where he got it) but it will not boot up the system like my adv. server does. Now, this may have something to do with the disc's questionable up bringing...but never mind that for now. I'm just trying it out so don't wag your finger at me. Besides, wouldn't i be stepping DOWN to w2k pro from adv. server anyway.
I'm getting distracted. Anyway, can someone tell me how I can make this a bootable disc. Are there some files i can copy from my adv. server disc to make this one boot up? Thanks,

You should be able to start setup from within your current w2kAS. Navigate into the CD and run winnt32.exe in the i386 directory. Or, copy the i386 directory to your hard drive and run from there.

No, I don't think you quite understand what I need/want to be able to do. I know I can go in and just run setup or winnt32, but that will only work if I already have something installed. I need to be able to run this on a machine with a formated drive. I have a second machine that I want to install this on, and the HD in it is blank. I need to boot it up with the w2k pro disc and then install. Thanks,

the only thing i can offer would be to tell you to stick the cd in your server and make the 4 boot floppies. then boot your maching from floppies and then go into the cd and run setup

Quickest way is to boot with a win98 startup floppy with cdrom support. load smartdrv.exe so the files copy faster, and then run winnt.exe from the i386 directory.

The only differences between Advanced Server and Pro are Advanced supports more processors/memory and comes with a few server utils. Otherwise they are the same OS. If you using Win2k on your home computer its probablly best to use Pro.

The two OS's are the same kernel. I don't know what you want to compare.

The differences are that W2KAS has the server components, supports 8 procs and 8GB RAM, and supports clustering.

As for the windows 98 boot disk, I would have done that long ago if i could. but I don't have a floppy drive kicking around (that works at least) to use.
And i figured the only diffs between the two were the extra server apps etc. But since I have moved and lost my DSL line i'm not running my server anymore so wanted to see if pro would load up/run a little snappier than adv server. Just thot it might be easier than doing a reinstall and unchecking this and stopping that etc etc. Thanks for the help all,
