How Do I Make SATA drive boot over IDE PATA drive

I put together a new system and took my old boot drive out of my old computer and put in my new computer. It is an IDE drive.

My new drives are SATA drives. When setting them up, I did a disk copy using Western Digitals program. I then went into the Registry and named the old boot drive, Drive M, and the new Raptor drive, Drive C.

The computer boots up off of the the new C drive. It makes a distintive noise and I can here it working on boot up.

However, I am finding links for drivers, programs, etc. that go back to the old M drive. This is causing a reall problem because things are just not working correctly.

The M drive is still shown as the system drive, even though it is not the boot drive.

I went into the BIOS and the M drive is shown as the boot drive.

I am very confused.
