How do I make my waterblock have that nice mirror finish?

Opposed to the bottom-of-my-shoe shine that it has right now. I have a dremel, and I think I need to buff it in an order, but I cant remember what, and I couldnt find any info searching on google or the forum. My friend let the waterblock live in his car for a couple months before I finally got it, so its in pretty bad condition right now. It has different colored spots on the bottom, but no scratches or anything. Anyways, thanks.

Use 1000 grit and then 2000 grit sand paper, from your local auto parts store.
Tape sandpaper to a piece of glass, so that the heat sink surface can be made very flat.
Don't use a Dremel, the 2000 grit will produce a mirror finish.

I also recommend the auto store. You will need many many grits of sand paper. Start with about 400 grit and work your way up to 2000 grit. Use 3000 or 4000 grit if you can find it. Your instincts about using your dremel are good. Use the dremel buffing attachment and use the buffing paste that dremel sells. Then use automotive buffing cream.
