How do I make my USB mouse stop acting like a touchpad on my laptop?

I have a desktop USB mouse plugged into my laptop, but it's acting like my touchpad. It just does stupid stuff, like it drags and selects instead of just moves the cursor...sometimes I have to click things a few times before it registers the click...sometimes I'm moving a window when all I want to do is move the cursor...etc.

How can I disable all this touchpad stuff so that my mouse works just like a regular mouse on a regular desktop?
