Does any one know if the Phillips DVP-642 DVD will play VCD and SVCDs as well? I need a new unit and would like one that supports AVI,VCD,SVCD. I'm tired of encoding! :)

Try the free program DIKO. It will take your divx files and turn them into burnable dvd files. Even lets you put three movies on one dvd. Check it out.

DIKO is a one click DivX/XVid to DVD/SVCD conversion tool. It works with many other softwares to achieve the best quality and efficiency possible in this conversion. DIKO is available in two versions: DIKO Free (Freeware) and DIKO Gold (commercial). DIKO Gold was created as a way to allow me to dedicate more time to DIKO development and to allow people to reward me for my work. Check the features page to learn the difference between DIKO Free and DIKO Gold.
