how do i make an image 60x60 pixels without looking like crap?

trying to make an avatar for another forum, i just wanna shrink a pic down so it fits the size req but it always looks like sh!t when i do this in photoshop

is there some secret to this I am missing?

Pixel art. 60x60 is quite a big space for that.

Try drawing a spider or a cookie in 16x16!

i havent taken it yet but most likely will start from a 800x600 crop, i havent vid capped it yet because last time i tried this it didnt work

if you do it in photoshop it should work fine. if its coming out bad, then shrink it in increments. if its 250, shrink it to 125, then to 60... make sure your sampling under image size is correct for the job.
