Hard drive is formatted with NTFS file system. Booting from a Windows 98 bootdisk does not allow me to access the hard drive. Can I create a bootdisk from a Windows XP computer that will allow me to boot to a prompt and access the hard drive?

Ddeder: To make a Windows XP boot disk you put a floppy in the drive, rightclick and select format, and select Write System Files.

MotoAMD: BootDisk rocks, I have used it before without problem.

To make a Windows XP boot disk you put a floppy in the drive, rightclick and select format, and select Write System Files.
That makes a bootable floppy but it will still not give you access to an NTFS partition. There are 3rd party utilities like NTFSDOS from sysinternals.com that do but you have to pay for the version that gives you write access.
