How do I make a video?

I want to make movies for games like counter-strike. I'm using fraps but when i finish recording the size of the movie is huge.What other programs do I need to make a movie? Is they're a way I can make the size of the video smaller?

get lots of paper, some crayons, and a lot of time...

You prolly just need to compress the video using something like the divx/xvid codec. Software like virtualdub is freely available.
