How do I make a switch?

I want to put a switch in my case to turn my neon on/off. I went to radio shack and looked at the different switches they have but I have no idea what to use? I want a simple on/off switch (rocker or toggle, no momentary switches), has to be able to be mounted on the case or front bezel. Quick disconnects would be a plus. I have 2 neon lights that should be both controlled by a single switch. Can someone give me part numbers, explanations of wiring, etc. Any help greatly appreciated!

The neon lights work on 12v, or??

I don't know what switch to get but every standard switch rated for 12v+ should work.

As for the wiering just connect the yellow 12v wire that goes from the PSU to one connector of the switch "marked input or supply" and then the two + wiers from your neons to the other connector on the switch (If you got a switch with a built in led there is a third connector on the switch that is a ground connect this to the ground on your PSU, the black cable) then run those - (or ground) wiers from your neons to the ground on the PSU usually any black cable.

I have newer seen a neon lamp so i don't know if there is anything more that U have to do. Plz blame me if i'm wrong, so I can learn me some more!

just get a STSP switch, it lets you turn on/off. Wire the 12v, u can then turn the neon on and off. you can get more info in the link in my sig. HTH

Just get a 12v rated switch from your Radio shack or hardware store (even an auto supply store will carry a 12v toggle/rocker switch)

then, for your quick disconnects, wire the switch and the neon to a molex connection, that way you can plug and unplug it whenever you wish.

Since you have 2 neons, I would wire those to a single molex to plug into the switch, although you may want to check how much power they draw..

Another thing I did, since the blacklight I have is originally a 12v car auto one, was wire a molex onto the car adapter, so if I ever feel the need to plug the blacklight into a cigarette adapter, all I need to do is take the blacklight out of my case, plug it into the car adapter and I'm good to go ;o)
