How do I make a link in a post?

I know that this probably sounds stupid but, how do I make a link in a post? I'm new at this and have my system rig setup but it come up with the hole address.

when you wanna post link just press the http button at the top or you can do it like this [L]URL goes here[/L].

sleefer, this is how you do it. Replace { and } with [ and ]

{L=myurl}http://www.me.com{/L}

Once you replaced the brakets, it would show up like this:
myurl

when you are at the reply screen click the symbols link in the line under the reply, Preview, Cancel buttons.
