How do I make a 'bootable system floppy disk'?

The instructions I have to flash my bios say this: "Make a bootable floppy system disk by typing FORMAT A:/S in the DOS prompt." When I type that in it says 'Invalid parameter - /S'.

How else can I do it? I'm in win2k (maybe that's the problem?).

wow sorry man but for being a platinum member you really should know how to make a bootdisk.

If you run win98 go to control panel and then add/remove programs and there should be on one of those tabs an option to make a startup disk/rescue disk.

if you run w2k go to bootdisk.com and download the win98 bootdisk and copy the files to a floppy

It's been too long, so I can't remember if it really makes a difference, but try a space between the colon and the slash. I don't do too much with 2K, but I know in 9x/ME, you can go to Add/Remove programs and have it create a startup disk, I have used that before for BIOS flashes, sometimes you have to clear out some of the extra stuff to make room, tho.

Either do the windows way that DaveGod75 described or type this:

Format A: /s

you might have to have a space, as palad said. Also you may not be able to do it in a DOS prompt within win2k...

I guess I'll just boot up in 98 and then restart in Dos mode, and try it with a space.
