using nero? ive jus downloaded and unpacked Ubuntu...how to make it so i can boot from it to install?

I think all Ubuntu downloads come as ISO images. In that case, there is no need to unpack/unzip the ISO file. Just use Nero to burn the image (not the same as burning the ISO to a data CD).
Under Nero 5.5, go under File --> Burn Image, and select the Ubuntu ISO.
