how do i look up the details for a website?

I like to go to godaddy.com type in the domain like im gong to buy it, then click the "click here for more info" when it says its already taken.
Helps with the restriction of whois.net/info/whatever of hits per subnet.

Also for ip, try tracert domainname.com

A website good for this stuff as well is:
