how do i..light the lighter by snapping my finger?

I just saw it in a movie.
U know those shiny lighters u refill?
I saw this guy lighting it with snapping his finger... now.. is there any trick involved with doing this?

#1 - You're referring to a Zippo
#2 - You don't exactly light it by snapping...you snap your fingers so in the process of snapping, your finger turns the wheel

It won't work (at least probably not) with a disposable lighter, the wheels require too much force to turn. Zippo's don't require as much force / less friction. Need the right tool for the job...

FWIW, It'd be more manly to light a match by dragging it across your 5 o'clock shadow.

Zippo my friend is a sweet lighter. I learned to hold the lighter at the ends while using a snapping method could open the lighter that way and then once again "snap" my fingers with my middle finger sliding against the wheel on its way down to the base of my thumb. Its really simple to do with some slight practice. After that I tought myself to toss a cigerette into my mouth from about mid-chest level. This is much tougher and would challenge anyone to try this. Your lucky if you get 1 in 10 tries.

That's my favorite trick with a Zippo. The "fast side to side arm snap" is by far the coolest way to close it.

Kinda makes lighting a cigarette seem like a momentus occasion when you end it with a florish. (<-sp?)

You can't open and light the lighter in one motion. People have been trying to do it forever... but there is no way to do it like in the movies... most of the time they have their lighters rigged up to spark when they are opened.
