How do I level up in Daikatana?

Finally got this game and don't see how to do it. There's an arrow with text saying "LEVEL UP!" or "POWER UP!" or something of the sort on the left of the HUD but nowhere does it say how I use it. Which keys do I press to choose which skill I want to use and to use it?

Yeah, it was that bad. Not sure if patches made it someone playable or not.

The AI of you teammates would have been better suited in directing the actions rendered bricks.

The doors are your greatest enemy in Daikatana, and I don't mean the band. You get stuck going through them, they block your shots when they shouldn't, and even worse they kill you when they close. If that isn't annoying enough your A.I. controlled companions, that you have to get through the level alive, have even more problems with doors than you will. Imagine a world were doors kill people if they touch them, that's Daikatana.

I thought the mosquitoes were worse then the frogs. Seriously it's a much worse game than it's given cedit for.

You guys underrate Daikatana. It's basically Half-Life a really stupid AI. Aside from that it is actually a pretty good game.

Find out what your keybindings for UI next, UI Previous, and UI Use are in Daikatana, and that will let you level things up. Now after 10 years you may finally rest, Godspeed HamburgerBoy. Also comparing Daikatana to Half Life is like comparing Bubsy 3D to Super Mario 64.
