How do I legally obtain a copy of Windows XP Tablet Edition?

Greetings!

So I have an old Toshiba M200 that I use as my work laptop. Years ago I lost the Windows XP Tablet Edition DVD. I've been running Vista on it and it works alright, but I lost some of the tablet functionality (special keys & buttons for rotating the screen, etc.)

I would like to run XP Tablet Edition - I only have 2gb of RAM and I don't need anything Vista is offering for this machine. However, when I called Toshiba they told me to contact Microsoft to buy a replacement disc! I called the 800 number for Microsoft, who informed me that Tablet Edition is OEM only and they cannot provide me with a disc. I was then informed that I needed to contact Toshiba. I am getting the run around here.

Now granted there are other ways to get the damn OS, but I have a valid license key from an OEM and I want to do it right.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips?

Thanks much,
-Craig

I used to have a Toshiba M400 and there are drivers for Hotkey functionality. Toshiba's site is horrible, but you can find them if you look hard enough.

Are you honestly thinking of downgrading OS's for the simple fact that you lost the use of a few buttons around your screen? Jeez load Linux and map the buttons manually, but going back to XP is a bad decision.

With that, you have a valid product key for Windows. However you obtain a copy (Torrent for example) it will still be legal as long as you use your specific product key.

This, downloading a disc is not pirating when you have a valid license key. That being said there are some risks associated with getting the software from such locations (viruses and such).

Try here: http://www.digitalmedia-labs.c...ecoveryCD_Portege.html ... about $28 or so + shipping
They list one for the M205 model ... should have the tablet OS on it
Also Call Toshiba Customer Service: (800) 457-7777. I understand there is a small charge for the replacements.

And see this link: http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=2573
Seems Tablet Edition is part of XP Media Center

Just found this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/TOSHIBA-PO...p=TL090617187005r35785

Brand new media for $80

Or you can download it here: http://www.torrentreactor.net/...a-windows-xp-tablet-pc
But be sure to check if for anything that should not be on it (virus)
