How do I know when my Geforce4 Ti4200 is overclocked too high?

I recently bought a refurb XFX Geforce4 Ti4200. I tested it overnight at 290/590 and all seems to be well. I bumped it up to 300/600 and still no hiccups. I am currently trying 300/610. I am testing with 3DMark2001SE, Dronezmark, and Evolva Rolling Demo. How do I know when it's OC too high? Jaggies, lockups, or what?? I remember with my old TNT2 Ultra I would get white spider web like lines when I clocked it too high. TIA.

basically you shou see artifacts in general and games uses. Severe artifacts and eventually thermal burnout will tell you that you oced your card too high.

What if the card seems to run fine at 300/610 (it's default is 250/513) or even 300/650? Will I damage the card ("thermal burnout"), even if I am not getting artifacting, if I leave it overclocked?

you should notice visual artifacts long before physical damage occurs. usually it is snow-like white specks, or just strange video glitches.

run 3dmark numerous times in a row. put as much stress on it as possible. if it holds up it's fine.
