How do I know what car cameras are compatible with my nav system?

I've got a Pioneer 700BT installed in my Chevy. Had it for over a year. It has input for a rear view camera but I dont know what kind I can use. The pioneer site only recommends I use their overpriced cameras.

When I go to Amazon pretty much everything I see is a standard RCA jack, is that the norm?

Do I need infrared/nightvision?

Pretty sure that unit uses a standard RCA/composite input for the camera. You can use pretty much anything that has that. Power comes externally anyway. I have two of those head units, but I haven't done a camera on either one just yet. My wife really wants me to do that on her car, so that's probably my next project.

Not sure if you need IR/night vision. Probably a cool feature, but I just have never used it. I would suggest you'd want to use something specific to a reverse cam application, since it likely has a wider angle lens. An old webcam or something would be cheap, but probably not suitable.
