How do i know if its refurbished?

Im up to buy a new monitor. It's dell. The one who is selling it says its new but i would like to know if there's any way to identify it as new or refurbished. Any tag, something.

Most of the time it will be pretty obvious once you receive the product, but not if you're looking at pics. I haven't bought anything refurbished from Dell, but from my experience with other companies, usually refurb products will have clear signs of wear. Some won't have tags or labels on the actual unit, but will have it on the manual or box. A lot of times refurbished items come only in plain brown boxes and/or without some of the accessories or documents.

Try to verify the waranty from Dell.

If there is no waranty , then refurbished or not becomes a non issue.
If there is a waranty, then you know how much is left.

If I remember right from a previous post, if the monitor was purchased with
a system (computer) then it does not get individual waranty.
If it was purchased as an independant item, then the monitor has an stand alone waranty.

Perhaps somebody else can verify or correct this.
