i bought 2 piii chips at 866, 133, 256k retail kits with heatsinks and fans

how do i find out if the chips are coppermine?

i called the retailer but they said to call intel since these were retail kits

i have already installed the chips so i would like not to have to remove the heat sinks to get at any info on top of the chips

i was hoping that there was an easy way to find out

thanks for any replys

ben

They are Coppermines because anything after the PIII 600's the L2 cache went from 512K @ half speed to 256K @ full speed. So since yours are 256K then they are Coppermines, at least this is how I understand it. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

Any P3 with 256K cache is coppermine, as is any socketed P3, any P3 that operates on the 133 MHz FSB, & any P3 600 and higher.
