How do I know if I'm running SATA II?

I'm using the cables that came with the motherboard and I have a WD1600JS Serial ATA II hard drive. I was wondering if there is anyway for me to see if I'm actually running AT SATA II speeds. Do I need SATA II cabling? Where would I get them?

I don't believe current hard drives can even saturate a IDE connection(besides raptor). Much less a SATA connection. Chances are you are fine.

Well first go to device manager. And in there somewhere, go to the IDE channel and it opens up some menu which will show you the current speed your SATA hdd is running at.

hope this helps

There is no such thing as SATA II speeds, nor is there SATA II cabling.
