Ok, so I am living in a group house (where I am the landlord) of 5 people. There is one female roommate who is just driving my absolutely crazy.
I initially signed with her last August as the lease date was getting near, and I didnt want to eat her room's rent for the month. She seemed ok, and thought she could be a decent roommate. And for some parts she is, but she also does stuff that drives me absolutely insane.
For example (now I dont want to be mean, but Im going to be a little) this girl is already a bit on the heavy side and fairly unattrractive. And when I say a bit on the heavy side, I mean 5'4 230ish with a monster face full of acne. Which of course isnt her fault, and could easily be oversome if she were a nice pleasant person. But she flops down in the main room all the time and watches tv way too loud. She leaves her coats/clothes, books and other stuff all over the house. She's not particularly friendly some of the time, I think stemming from a mild social disorder.
She also has some very nasty bathroom habits. For instance, as soon as she is done going, she flushes the toilet and books it out of the bathroom. This means that she NEVER washes her hands after she is done, something that I think is absolutely disgusting. BUT, as a result of the high-tailing it out of the bathroom, she sometimes leaves stuff floating in the toilet because it didnt go down properly. Because she leaves so quickly, this is left for the next person to find. I kid you not, this happens on a weekly basis.
Now, to top it all off, yesterday, she did just about the MOST MORONIC thing I can possibly think of. She purchased a hanging drying rack to dry some sweaters on.. the type you usually hook over the shower rod in the bathroom. Instead, she got the brillant idea of removing the globe from the overhead light in her room, and hanging the rack from the one of the two exposed bulb sockets!!!! Mind you, there is nothing supporting this socket other than the feed power wires that light the bulb!. Now come on, how stupid can you get???
SO how do I get rid of her? I am thinking I will just let her lease expire in June and not renew. Even that will be tough for me though. I am usually the nicest guy I can be, and just telling her "you cant live here anymore" will be tough. I know she wants to stay, and she should. Everyone else in the house is great, and its a really nice place in a great location, with pretty fair rent. But I dont think I have any other choice.
