How do I keep OS X from intercepting function keys?

I am running an app that needs F15, well it needs all the standard F-keys...

yet if I run it in windowed mode my iMac via OS X I think is intercepting them for its own use... .


 
you can turn off using the F keys for apple shortcuts, it's in the keyboard section i believe. then they should function as regular F keys.
