How do I install WinXP without a CD drive

I guess I could have taken the drive out and installed winxp via a different computer, but I find it absolutely ridicilous that they would build the laptop so it interferes with the winxp installation routine.

Have you tried any of the suggestions presented here? Did you try the 6 boot floppies? There's nothing terribly unique or unusual about Toshiba's install process.
