How do i install win98se on both partions?

ive tried this in server different ways. i have a maxtor 25gig and i split it by 15 and 10 gigs

after ive done that i format c:/s and that installs win98se on the first 15gig primary partion

i load it up and it only shows it on the first partion not the 10gig secondary.

i also try to activate the 2nd partion but that still doesnt work.

IS THERE ANYWAY THAT I CAN DO IT?

THANKS ALOT

how do i do that format d:/s ?? should i activate it?

format D:
why would you want win98 on both partitions??

so i cant put the same OS on both partions?

i want the second partion for backup files like games music and folders.

if my primarly partion messes up and i have to reformat does my secondary partion get reformated also?

can i still transfer my stuff to the new partion ?? without having an OS on my secondary?

assuming you only format C then no!

yes but you must format it with format D: first!

there is absolutely no reason to have the same OS on two partitions, just make one partition for the OS and format the other one, windows 98 will recognize all formatted partitions (FAT and FAT32)

so to transfer my stuff i have to have D: formated? but if i have a harddrive faluier then that wont work also right?

heh

think of it like this: a partition is seen as a drive. do you need to install windows 98 on your floppy before you can get the data off the floppy? do you install windows 98 on your (example) warcraft cd before you can use the cd? no. if you properly partitioned, then all you need to do is format the other partition. if that doesnt worked then you probably partitioned it wrong or just generally borked it in some other way.

you dont need to install windows 98 on the cdr you're burning your backups to do you?

there is no logical reason to install windows 98 twice on the same computer.

wow....you have a lot of RTFM'ing to do dude. and this is only partitioning you're having trouble with!
