ok i'm bringing up a new system from scratch (win2k) on a 300gb disk. win2k only recognizes 130gb, i know there's a reg fix for it but do I need to install windows again after the fix?

Link to fix.

Afterwards you would either need partition manipulation software like Partition Quest or you could use the additional space as another partition(s).

Check out this link for information on how to slipstream Service Pack 4 into a Windows 2000 installation CD. I would imagine if you had a slipstreamed SP4 installation disc it should be able to recognize the entire drive size.
