sounds like a stupid question but this is to avoid problems. on my crappy computer i installed a Radeon 32mb PCI (crap puter didn't even have AGP slot). i tried to update drivers on my ATI like a year ago. i first tried to install the new driver right over the old one. by that i mean keep the old driver installed then install the driver i just downloaded......that ended in a HUGE loss of performance and several DLLs missing from my windows folder (i have no idea how that happened). after that i uninstalled the drivers then reinstalled the original driver, it worked fine. i tried to update by uninstalling then installing the new driver and it was stilled f***ed.
