How do I install MPlayer?

With fedora core 4 there are some handy third-party online repositories.

Check out http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/FAQ.php

Read thru the FAQ, especially the part about compatability and mixing problems.

With this it will show you how to setup yum to use third party repositories and install things like libdvdcss2 for decoding dvds and win32 codecs for viewing things like quicktime and wmv files.

Mplayer isn't so nice. It's very handy if you want to do advanced stuff (it's very capable), but for simple media playback things like Xine and VLC are a bit easier.
