Ok, I am new at this. I ordered the parts for a new PC and I recieved the CPU (1.4 Ghz Tbird) and the Thermaltake Blue Orb today. I have ordered an ASUS A7M266 mb, but haven't gotten it yet. There are no directions and I would like to be certain so I don't screw up.

The CPU has four round rubber type pieces stuck on the top in each corner. The Blue Orb has two edges on the bottom that align perfectly with two of the rubber peoces on the processor. So, does the thermal compound only go onto the two rubber pieces that I attach the Blue Orb onto? If not, how do I attach the Blue Orb to the processor? Please help. Thanks!

Ahhhhhhhhh crap. I think that the Blue Orb is for the video card or motherboard? So what should I order for the Tbird 1.4?

Don't buy any of those HSF's from CompUSA or Microcenter. Get them online. CompuWiz-Tech has the Taisol CGK760092 with copper insert. Good HSF for the price. Or look around for the Thermosonic Thermoengine with Delta fan. Both of those are good

yes, the blue orb is only for northbridges, videocards or other semi-hot IC's around your system. It is not designed at all to cool something as hot as the CPU!
