How do I install an IDE HDD....

I have 2 sata HDDs with XP on one. I had problems before with booting up before when I had 2 satas and 2 IDEs (something about the IDEs taking over as primary).

How do I pop this IDE HDD in without causing any problems?
 
Haven't had experience with this but probably hook the SATA's up to the Primary channel and the IDE drives up as secondary?
 
I know what he's talking about, my system also had problems with the OS running from a SATA drive. Changing channels didn't seem to help, check the boot order in the BIOS. Mine had the Sata as a secondary, but the IDE as 3rd primary boot drive?!?
