How do I install a word 2007 template?

I'm kinda behind with all this, I don't really deal with word at a very high level, don't deal with templates and that stuff, and I've never even touched office 2007.

I have this cab file that has an ini file and a dotx file in it, what do I do with these files? They won't open with anything. The user has office 2007. It's probably something really simple but can't seem to find much info online about it.

Just double-click the .dotx file. It should launch with Word 2007 automatically.

When it choose to open with word it's just giberish, it tries to open the file as a text document. Do I have to drop it in a special folder somewhere maybe?

Sounds like the file is corrupt. You should not have to drop it anywhere. You can put it in the user template folder, but that just makes it easier to access from menus within Word.
