here is a setup

3 computers in one room with one printer shared.

how can i setup the printers on the two other computers when their profile is set to mandatory meaning i can't change anything in that profile permantly meaning once i log out i have to re install the printer again...

i have tried log in as an administrator and install the printer there but it only setup for the administrator.

Is there a way i can setup the shared printer so everyone can use it??

I will give it a crack, go to the printer folder, then right click on you shared printer. Go to the choice called "sharing..." and select it. It will bring up a window that has a bunch of tabs, go to the one that says, "security" you can adjust who can use the printer or not and different aspects to that specific printer. This is an idea, though I am not sure what the problem is, on the pc with the physical connection to the printer or the other two that are trying to use it?

Oh yeah, if you want to share a printer and the server printer is win2k, and the others are not, the proper drivers must be installed, you can do that throught the same method I desribed before, but instead, go to sharing and then click on the aditional drivers and click the appropriate drivers for the corresponding OSes. Good luck....

Follow the steps in this MS article. It involves setting up a new account and configuring it the way everyone needs to have it, then making THAT account's profile the mandatory profile for all:

Setting up Mandatory Profiles

p.s. I'd give some thought to changing your signature line :)
