How do I insert my real signature into word?

I mean like what stuff do I have to buy to do this? I want to send faxes from my computer and have my signature inserted in my word document so that I do not have to print it out first, then sign it and scan it before finally sending it. How is this done? First up how do I get my signature to get into word? And will it look like as if I really signed it?

I paid someone to do what you are looking to do. I sent him a copy of my signature, but I am not sure how he did it or what software was used.

He sent me a floppy disk with a personalized font, which I then installed. To use the signature in Word or any application, I had to type "S" using the my signature font. The size of the signature could simply be controlled by changing the font size.

Maybe this gives some kind of insight as what you are up against. I'd love to know how you do it....

Couldn't you just insert a scanned image of it. I thought about doing this also but never worked at figuring it out.

Scan in your signature, and insert it as a picture. Easy. It'll never look like you signed the real paper because of the way the computer ink differs from ink from a pen, but it'll work fairly well. It'll look like it was signed the photocopied or something.

like Lonyo said, just scan it in. i used a black fine tip sharpie, then scanned it in in black and white. looks good and does exactly what you need it to.

That's what I do - use a scanned BMP of my signature created on a digitizing pad. But be careful- graphics can be stolen, and your siugnature can become someone else's.

This one's ripe for a "blonde" scenario! The same way blondes use white-out to correct word processing mistakes, w/ your word document open (and at the spot where your signature belongs) sign your monitor w/ a magic marker! Then use a Polaroid Camera to take a picture of your screen and fax the picture!

P.S. I was going to initially suggest a Digital Camera, but since this is a blonde theme, there's no sense in introducing such technically challenging devices like a Digital Camera! :Q
