How do I increase SHAREAZA download speeds?

Me too..... I tend to max out downloads & uploads at 50Kbs (sometimes 60Kbs if I'm lucky)???? I know I can upload and download a lot more.

There could be so many causes for this.

1) That is the most that the person you are getting it from can send/receive at.

2) There are XXX sources and you are only receiving from one of them and are queued up in all the others.

3) You are using XP with SP2 and your connections are being limited.

on and on the list goes.

Use the Shareaza help page to go through all of them one at a time. It's actually very thorough.

I am using Shareaza to download the entire second season of Dead Like Me (5.112GB) and it's only getting about 6-15KB/s and I set the max files, max transfers, and max tansfers per file to the maximum settings (under downloads in settings) but I am not sure what to set the Maximum Queue Length to - what should I do for this setting. I have a cable modem with a bandwidth of 252Kbps to 4.75 Gbps but I still get poor speeds - for the second season of Dead Like Me I have 1,646 sources but it is using only 87 of them and about 22-26 say "downloading", 5 "requesting", 5 "uninterested", and the rest "choked. My connection seems to be choked when I use Shareaza and when I used Azureus it simply groud to a halt -erased it because it always ground to a halt-

------- Actually just saw total downloads speed for all my download spike to a little above 60Kb/s but only for about 22 seconds then dropped like a rock---------
