how do I hook up multiple ide devices when my ports are full

I have a mother board w/ two standard ide ports and i have a cdrw/cd combo on one and 2 hds on another, but i need to hook up a dvd drive in this computer. any ideas?

You have a CDRW/CD combo drive on one channel and two hard drives on another. That's 3 devices. You should be able to hook up one more. Primary IDE (Master/Slave) Secondary IDE (Master/Slave) = four devices.

Controller card for one or both of the hard drives (many do not support ATAPI devices, like optical drives). Or consolodate your opticals. Do you really need three? Though I shouldn't talk, as I have three (DVD-ROM, CD-R/W and DVD-R/W) but I also don't have a problem of not enough IDE channels to use them all.
