Hey, I have a Linksys BEFSR41 router. I have a spare computer and I would like to set up a CS or other type of game server on it. The router blocks serving so how do I allow serving? I have to allow the port that serving uses to be open or something right? I'm kindof a noob with networking. What part of the software do I go to do this stuff? Thx

To host a Counter-Strike server, you must forward port 27015 to the computer's internal IP. To do this, you must log into your router configuration, click the advanced tab in the menus, and select the Forwarding tab. From there, type in to forward port 27015 using TCP.

If you are unfamiliar on how to configure your Linksys router, please consult your Linksys BEFSR41 manual.

Good luck!

[edit]Be sure you open the same port if you are running any software-based firewalls on the host computer.[/edit]
