No, it's as straightforward as I know. I already told you this, you put the water in the pot, and then the egg and then boil the water with the egg submersed.

I'm sorry but boiling an egg may be one of the most straightforward cooking tasks ever.

then why are there a few different ways to do it according to this thread ?
