I had been running windows server 2003 in a trial mode and finnaly got the full version of the software in, how can I change the serial number or whatever to reflect my copy, and have all the licenses the new copy came with in the trial, so it is then the full version, I have the cd and serial of the new on sitting here with me, but I've already installed all the software and SP1 on the new copy, and don't feel up to doing a full install. Can I do this, or install my only choice?

yeah, I'd think just a standard upgrade as well. Or what windows will treat as an upgrade install.

Just run setup from within Windows and choose an upgrade install.

It says the cd is older, the Trial edition has SP1 and the CD doesn't have it on there... So it won't let me upgrade... Can I slipstream a cd with SP1 and do it that way? If so can someone give me the directions to do this?

slipstreaming is getting easier. Go here to download

http://nuhi.msfn.org/

I have just slipstreamed w2k3.server standard and web edition to SP1 and it worked perfectly.

How do I know if the CAL's that came with my copy of windows server are per User or per Device?

Yes, you choose but I do not know which one, and I believe you have to schoose the ones you purchased (legally)
