If i get some tailless fans, how do i make em into them 4 pointy things in the while socket. really though, im not very good with this stuff and no idea where to go about buying the male metal things and the white things to make a connection. is this how it is done?

how would i hook something like this up? Light, says it comes with a car adapter, how would one go about making that to work in a p00ter? or is it one of those deals where if i have to ask i wont be buying it :(

Those 4 pointy things in the white socket are called molex connectors. You can get 4 pin male molex connectors at any radio shack.

Your power supply has 4 wires...one red, one yellow, and 2 black. The red is 5 volts, the yellow is 12 volts, and the 2 blacks are grounds. To hook your fan up, you would want to connect the red connector to 12 volts (i.e. yellow wire) and the black connector to ground (black wire)

you COULD make your own molex connectors, and have the wires line up correctly, or you could pick up "wire taps" at radio shack that allow you to simply connect or "tap" into the proper wires w/out the need for a molex connector.

as far as that light, the same concept holds true..you would cut off the car adapter, and have 2 wires , one goes to 12 volts and the other to ground, just like the fans.

<< dude, you always respond to my posts, come give me a hug! :) thanks again. >>

heheh :p

And don't forget to wire a switch inline with your light! You'd be looking for a simple Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) switch. And where can you get such a beast? WHY, at radio shack of course!

That for turning it on and off? Anything wrong with leaving it on all the time?

Good point. I guess there's no real harm in leaving it on all the time....just that it might burn out quicker that way...depending on the type of lamp is all.

I guess i just like having switches all over the place!

yeah but my case will be on (getting a window) and dont have any room for a fanbus :( (full inwin500 tower and every slot is full, im 1337). plus if i wired it to turn off id never turn it on :( better to force me to do it. i dont need to worry about fuses or resistors or any of that other stuff i have no idea about right? just hook the wires up and go? and how do the tailless ends crimp? just put the wire in the jacket and use a pair of pliers or is there a special crimp tool? i get tired of buying those damn thing. rj45/11 crimpers, strippers, punch tools, coax crimpers, grrrr.

yep, no resistors or fuses necessary. and as far as those crimp connectors, yes, all you need is a normal pair of pliers. I know what you're saying about special crimp tools...hehehe...lucky, that's not the case here.
