how do i get XP to recognize me as admin

how can i get windows XP to recognize me and give me full admin rights? (i am the sole user of the computer)

i'm trying to remove a program that won't remove itself unless i am the administer for the PC
 
Log out, login as "Administrator" and uninstall the program or grant your user admin privelages.
 
how do i login as "administrator?" i think i already am admin..

when i go to control panel/user accounts, it only shows my username "XYZ" - Computer Administrator
 
If your account is an administrator account and you the software isn't uninstalling, you may have (or had) some malware which removed privledges from your account.

Reboot and at the welcome screen press ctrl-alt-del twice to get the classis login box. Use Administrator and the pw you setup when you first installed to login to that Admin account.
