How do i get to Command Prompt/Dos without loading 2K?

Hey,

Im trying to install Win ME on a seperate partition to 2k, but then i run the "setup /ntldr" from within 2k it tells me i need to restart in dos.

I thought dos had been removed from 2k? If how can i access a command prompt without loading win2k? Ive tried the safe mode command prompt but i cant install it from there either.

During bootup you need to hold down F8 and then it gives you a bunch of options.

Ive done that but the only option mentioning a command prompt is "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" which still wont let me install ME.

There must be a way of doing this! I Read a FAQ on the site showing how to install ME after 2K, but it doesent say how to get to the command prompt! (remember: ME refuses to install from within windows)

Oh that.

You need to grab a WinME boot disk (get it from http://www.bootdisk.com if you don't have one) and boot up from that. You can then run the setup from there.

This wont overwrite my NT boot loader will it?
Ill be able to choose between the 2 os's without problem?

i need one that takes me to a command prompt and allowes use of my CDROM

Hey,
I had problems with ME so i installed 98SE instead.

Problem is there is no multi-boot menu and only Win98 is loading (i did use the/ntldr command) how do i load 2k now?
